Theosophy: History of a Pseudo-Religion by Rene Guenon

Rene Guenon was a french visionary who wrote many books on sacred religion. So, when you start getting into the Maya and their calendar, a whole new world opens up to you in which you seek wisdom. That whole new world is filled with fakes and frauds, navigating your way through it is a battle in itself.

In this book, Rene Guenon thoughtfully and academically sets out to warn us that The Theosophical Society is a fraud religion with wanna be esoteric con artists at its helm. Rene Guenon shows with proof that Madame Blavatsky was a spiritualist scam artist. It is a warning, from a 19th century comparative religion specialist extrodinaire Rene Guenon, to be careful in what you put your trust in.

Lost Light: An Interpretation of Ancient Scriptures by Alvin Kuhn

I had purchased this book a couple years back and it was the first time I read was introduced to the idea that christianity is a cosmology, meaning the stories based on the stars. These cosmologies contain literal, symbolic, and high truth. They are dramatizations of spiritual truth.

Alvin Kuhn masterfully explains that Christianity is far more valuable than we have been led to believe. Its meaning is so much deeper than what is taught. He also claims that in the future, christians will be the laughing stock of the world for corrupting the bible for motives "unknown", claiming Jesus was a real person. This is a must have in any comparative religion study.

The Secret Architecture of Our Nation's Capitol by David Ovason

I love this book. It helps to have an astrology background otherwise it will be a really tough read.

This book is part history, part astrology, and part awesome. This book describes with a lot of hardwork, how Washington D.C. is built around the astrological sign virgo. It reinforces to me that there is an ancient knowledge hidden from most people and that is cosmology. It is also fascinating to know that there are over 20 zodiacs in Washington D.C., this book is all it was cracked up to be.

Sacred Symbols of Science by Rene Guenon

There are symbols that are not unique to any one culture that show up in most cultures ancient and new.

Rene Guenon is a favorite author of ours. He isn't trying to sell us something, he is trying to teach us something. This book teaches us about symbols and their origins throughout the world. The cross, the swastika, the wheel, the thunderbolt, the sword, mountains, caves, and more all have a deep sacred meaning. This book does not disappoint.

The Mysteries of the Cathedrals by Fulcanelli

Fulcanelli is a mysterious alchemist who wrote this book under a false name. This book is a must have for anyone studying the mysteries of life.

This book is based on the premise that cathedrals built during the 1500's have encoded knowledge of the greater mysteries. It does have that and it is a primer for learning alchemy. This book is fascinating to say the least.

Astrology for Enlightenment by M.Karen

It wasn't very enlightening. It was the crappiest western astrology book I had ever read.

The Bible circa King James

In my quest for wisdom, I read the bible for the first time in my life. I see correlations to the Maya cosmology which I will detail in a blog later.

The Maya baktun is 144,000 days and the book of Revelation says those on earth shall not be hurt until 144,000 of the children of the 12 tribes of Israel are sealed. It seems the book of Revelation and the Maya calendar have a number in common. Coincidence? I think not.

The book of the Living and the Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche

Tibet is an old ancient culture that has to have insight into life. That is why I bought this book, as a primer to reading the Book of the Dead

Wow! This book is truly insightful. We in the west are living constantly in fear of death. Kind of deep, I know, but it is important. The Tibetans embrace death as a part of life and I have a feeling if we did the same, botox may be banished and our hospitals may not be dumping our elderly and most needy in the Los Angeles slums called Skid Row. Just saying.

Sacred Symbols edited by R. Adkinson

Not happy! There is nothing sacred about it. Don't buy it, it is a waste of money and space.

Maya Cosmogenesis 2012 by John Major Jenkins

This book changed my outlook on the Maya. Prior to reading this book, my ideas of the Maya were sacrificing sun worshipers. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Maya are an amazing ancient culture that have been around for thousands of years and should be respected for their knowledge and wisdom.

Maya Cosmogenisis 2012 is about the Maya, their calendar, their creation story, and why winter solstice 12.21.12 was chosen to end the long count calendar. You will not find a more academically rigourous book on the Maya. This is not a book filled with fluff trying to sell you a half baked product or philosophy. John Major Jenkins and Maya Cosmogenisis 2012 are the real deal. This book is a must read and in our opinion is the holy grail on Maya research.

Galactic Alignment by John Major Jenkins

Okay, you're thinking John Major Jenkins again! We can't help it, his books are a must have in any 2012ology collection. We don't believe there is a better Maya scholar out there and this is why his books are listed.

The question arises after Maya Cosmogenisis, are the Maya insights uniquely theirs or is this a wisdom that belongs to all humans? Galactic Alignment sets out to answer that question and the answer is YES! All cultures had access to Primordial Wisdom and there is a common thread amongst all cultures. This is the book that changed my life personally and I haven't looked at the world the same since. This book must be in any 2012 arsenal of wisdom.

The 2012 Story by John Major Jenkins

I wish this book was around when I started my quest in 2012ology. John Major Jenkins is an outsider in the "Maya academic community". Because he is an independent scholar, he has to go that extra mile to document his research and know his topic inside and out. That topic is Maya Cosmology and calendrics. That extra mile is why we like him so very much.

2012 The Story starts off with introducung you to the subject of the Maya calendar and why 2012 was chosen. He then takes you through an academicly rigourous review of his 2012 peers. If you want to know who is providing knowledge and who is in it just to sell you something, this book is for you. He ends the book with a place that few too many dare to go. That is into the spiritual side of life and opening eyes to what is really going on in the world. John Major Jenkins weaves academic standards and philosophy so beautifully and that is why he is our favorite author.

The Book of Destiny by Carlos Barrios

Carlos Barrios is a Member of The Mayan Elder Council and a Shaman. I had been reading is interviews over the years and really admired his character. This book allows you to determine your Mayan sign which is fun. More importantly though, in my opinion, it gives insight into an extraordinary culture. It leaves you in awe of the Maya culture and makes you wish the western world would wake up.

2012 The Return of Quetzalcoatl by Daniel Pinchbeck

I will start off by saying I didn't read the whole book. I read the first 100 pages or so and then jumped to the end. The title is misleading. The book isn't so much about the Maya as it is about Daniel himself. This book takes you through his journey of discovering what has been hidden to most of us for a long time. That being said, I can't seem to make myself like this guy. He seems very douche-bagish. I'm not sure if it's his self assuredness or what but he seems to have an arrogance that wasn't going away. I've seen him on documentaries about 2012 where he seems smug and annoyed which reinforces my opinion of him. Not into this book for sure. Maybe i'll give it a shot again down the road.

Fractal Time by Greg Braden

Fractal Time is Greg Braden's theory that time of past and the energy contained in it lives in cycles, and, those cycles will repeat with the same energy. The idea is that when a cycle of time repeats, conditions are ripe for history repeating itself. At the end of the book is a calculator for you to use to become a prophet.

The book is a quick easy read. When a book is a quick and easy read, we are suspicious. With anything, and specially knowledge of this sort, if it is easy to learn you're being sold something. If you are interested in this kind of stuff then buy the book and read it. But don't stop there, go to the source. Read who he is referencing. In this case the source is the Maya and the Hindu cultures view on time as well as some relatively modern physiscits. This book is a watered down easy to digest version of ancient knowledge. If you don't go to the source, you'll never have complete insight.

The Mysteries of 2012, Predicitons, Prophecies, & Possibilites

The Mysteries of 2012 is a collection of essays from leading authorities in the field of 2012ology. This is a good book as it introduces you to the characters in the play called 2012. In any play there are good, indifferent, and bad characters and this book gives you access to all of them.

With this book you get an insight into who is who and what they believe this date means. By reading their essays you can decide for yourself who you wish to lead you on a journey of knowledge. After all, its your ride and if it's a good one, we will all end up being wiser for it, right?

How to Practice Mayan Astrology by B. Scofield & B. Orr

Ugh! I can't believe I bought this book. If you are going to investigate ancient arts like astrology, the first indication of a good book should be its size. This book is under 300 pages and most of it is a table to look up dates. Very disappointed but I should have known better. That's 20 bucks i'll never see again, don't make the same mistake.
